Crisis support, at the moment of need.
MEDIO Consult underpins a video-based crisis support service for adults across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight — letting Solent Mind respond the way people want it, when they need it most.
Same-day support for crisis intervention
The brief
Reach the people who need help, the way they prefer to be reached.
MEDIO Consult is being used by NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight and Solent Mind to help people needing mental health support to access their ‘Lighthouse’ service. Adults requiring a short-term crisis intervention can be linked up with the video-based service — for support the way they want it, at a time when they need it most.
Some service users feel more comfortable opening up from their own home than they do in a clinical setting. Building a video pathway alongside the existing face-to-face offering meant Solent Mind could reach a wider group without adding more rooms, more drive time, or more wait.
Caller arrival alerts notify the peer support team the instant someone enters the waiting room — so a person in distress is met, not held in a queue.
The outcome
Next-day support for crisis intervention.
Some people feel more comfortable using mental health services from the comfort of their own home, so we launched the video support service alongside our face-to-face offering. MEDIO Consult’s caller arrival alerts make sure that the person in need is not waiting long.
