Our story.

MEDIO is powered by Involve Visual Collaboration Ltd – a business with more than three decades of experience delivering mission-critical communications technology to the UK public sector.

From legacy to leadership in digital health collaboration

1989

Our journey began in 1989 as Martin Dawes Office Automation, part of Martin Dawes Ltd. The group itself was founded in 1969 by Fred Dawes and later led by Martin Dawes, whose work helped shape the UK telecommunications market through the 1980s and 1990s.

1995

Starting with fax machines and office products, we evolved alongside technology, moving into audio-visual systems and early video conferencing in 1995. That evolution defined our core expertise – connecting people through reliable, secure communication.

2001

A pivotal moment came in 2001, when we were awarded a national contract with the Ministry of Justice to deliver the UK’s first prison-to-court video hearing service. What began as an innovation became the largest video-enabled court system in Europe, transforming how justice could be delivered while reducing cost, risk and logistical complexity.

2010

In 2010 we expanded into healthcare and rebranded as Involve Visual Collaboration in 2012. Our first telemedicine services had already been deployed in secure environments, and from there our footprint grew rapidly, supporting stroke pathways, enabling virtual MDT collaboration, and co-founding Immedicare to deliver 24/7 clinical access into care homes.

2020

By the time the Covid-19 pandemic accelerated the need for digital healthcare, we were already embedded within critical services; supporting NHS organisations, defence health teams and international health systems to scale virtual consultations and maintain continuity of care during unprecedented demand.

2025

Our 20 plus years of working with the Ministry-of-Justice established us as a trusted long-term public sector partner. Over the following years, we retained and expanded this capability through successive contract awards, including partnerships with Cable & Wireless and later Vodafone, culminating in a five plus-two year national refresh programme awarded in 2025.

Today

Today, we are a trusted partner across the NHS and wider healthcare system, delivering integrated AV, collaboration and virtual care solutions that support clinicians, improve access and enhance patient outcomes.

Identity

As that portfolio has grown, so too has the need for a clearer, more focused identity.

Medio

is that identity.
